Who We Are

We appreciate that everyone’s life experiences and circumstances are different. Our goal is to understand each client’s situation and provide the appropriate level of support for each client to live life on their own terms. We are cognizant of the stressors that can make life transitions less than harmonious. By developing a collaborative plan, Riviera Fiduciary strives to bring balance and calm to our clients and the people who care about them.

At its core, the role of a fiduciary is rooted in trust. Riviera Fiduciary is committed to building a relationship of trust with each client we serve. We will always act in our clients’ best interests, not because that is what we are required to do, but because that is the right way to honor the trust granted to us by our clients.

Please let us know how we can help or what questions you may have about our services.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Susan Graven, Founder

Susan combines her talent for understanding people’s needs and desires with the technical skills and ethical commitment of being a fiduciary. She was inspired to become a licensed professional fiduciary after researching  financial elder abuse and the devastating  impact it has on individuals and families.

By partnering with lawyers, financial planners, CPAs and other professionals, Susan provides comprehensive expertise across the spectrum of client needs. Susan is very particular about the professionals  she brings on board, especially in investing and managing clients’ assets – always prioritizing fee-only financial advisors who share her fiduciary commitment to placing clients’ needs first. Susan is compassionate, trustworthy and authentic. She believes strongly in consistent and open communication.

After earning her Professional Fiduciary Certification from UC Riverside, Susan passed both the National and California* licensing exams. She is a member of the Professional Fiduciaries Association of California, The Estate Planning Group Network (Torrance Chapter) and the Center for Guardianship Certification (National). Susan worked for ConservaTrust Fiduciary Services prior to launching Riviera Fiduciary.

Susan brings a wealth of experience to her client relationships. She has held senior management positions for public and private companies, leading high-performing teams in healthcare, education (Stanford and Caltech Alumni Associations), hospitality/travel, b2b publishing and government. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Richmond and her Master’s Degree from Cornell University’s School of Hospitality Management

Susan and her husband Paul have two grown sons. The family has enjoyed living in Redondo Beach for the past 20 years, particularly in the Riviera Village neighborhood that inspired the firm’s name. Susan enjoys bike rides on The Strand, yoga, family golf, beach walks, games/puzzles of all kinds, camping and hiking.

Susan is ready and eager to assist those in need of a bondable California Licensed Professional Fiduciary.
